Background: Paul Black (aka DJ Doom) was born and bred in Melbourne, but has since lived up and down the east coast of Australia, with a 6 year stint living in London. He is currently a qualified Mental Health Social Worker residing in Griffith. However, his past saw him as a professional drummer and percussionist for a number of trios, quartets, big bands and rock and punk bands. He also spent time as a club DJ and a presenter with some well known radio stations. Paul avidly listens to music and makes time to attend concerts and see his favourite bands live.
Music Interests: Paul has found inspiration and enjoyment from artists such as Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, The Police, The Beatles, Kiss and Frankie Knuckles, as well as music from a wide range of genres and decades, including Heavy Metal. "The music makes me feel excited and energised, and feeds my soul". Paul began presenting at 2MIA FM in 2017, and now presents The Metal Double Hour as his alter ego, DJ Doom. "I am excited to be a volunteer at a great community radio station".
